Kinetic friction occurs when two objects are moving relative to each other and rub together. The coefficient of kinetic friction is typically denoted as μ_k, and is usually less than the coefficient of static friction for the same materials.

Static friction is friction between two solid objects that are not moving relative to each other. Kinetic friction is when two objects are rubbing against each other. Putting a book flat on a desk and moving it around is an example of kinetic friction.

bizarre food in Taiwan

We watched a lots of videos in Taiwan Social class today. The videos introduce the food in Taiwan. And I'm going to talk about the three foods in the videos.

The first one is stinky tofu. Stinky tofu is the tofu with the bad smell. It is really delicious but stinks. And stinky tofu is really popular in Taiwan. You can see the stinky tofu everywhere in Taiwan.

The second one is oyster omelette. The oyster omelette is the egg with some greens. And they put the salty or spicy sauces on the oyster omelette. It is quite good.

The third food is the uterus of chickens. This one is the most disgusting food in those videos. They fry the uterus of chickens and sell them. The guy in the video said that uterus taste great. I disagree with him, and I'm not going to try that.

Drawing a sketch is an important part of the scientific method because sketch can help you a lot. First, sketch help you not waste your time on the thing that is not possible to make. Second, it can help you find out the best way to do the thing. People always forget because they thing the problem is easy, they don't sketch.

What happened when Jaguar Paw go back to the forest

When Jaguar Paw go into forest, he found that their village were already damaged. So Jaguar Paw and his family tried to built the house they can live. But, they found out they didn't have enough labor power to built the house. So they tried to find to place to live at night. Finally, they found the cave right next their village. The cave is really save but wet. So they lived in that few days and keep going their itinerary.

The forest is really dangerous, you will never know what will be happen. Jaguar Paw and his family walked very carefully in the forest. Suddenly, Jaguar Paw felt the threaten with something they don't know. He told them to stop and he hold his spear very hardly. At this moment, time was froze. The only sound can heard were the cry of insects.

Suddenly, the black shadow rushing out from the brushwood. Jaguar Paw used whole the power to punch the thing with his spear. The thing full over to the left. He moved closer to see, that's a panther. And Jaguar Paw moved back a little because there is other panther appear in the brushwood. A man versus two panthers. Jaguar Paw knew that is impassible for wining the fight. When he felt despair and fear. The were tow sharp arrows fly out from the brushwood, and pierce over panthers heads.

The panthers were dead. And a group people jumped out from the brushwood. Jaguar Paw very thanks them for saving he and his family. After the group of people saving them. The group people asked Jaguar Paw for going to their village with them.

That it, Jaguar Paw and his family get a little peace for a while ,until Spanish came and killed them.

Compare the Mayan civilization to other civilization (Technology)

In the technology part, Mayan civilization is really different than other civilization. Their buildings were like a pyramids in Egypt, but more cool. Mayans use different way to built the pyramids. Maya architecture started with a simple temple. The structures were so tightly built that centuries later it was impossible to slip a piece of paper in between the limestones. And Maya had mathematic and calendar. There is some symbols to show the numbers. This is the thing other civilizations didn't have.

For their calendar, they used their stairs of temple to calendar the days. It is similar to Egypt civilization. But not same!!

In Mayan society, their class system is like ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia civilization. Kings on the top, slaves in the bottom and priests are under the king. Mayan have wet season and dry season, like Indus River civilization.

Mayan civilization has different way to choose their king, they fought to each other, and the most powerful man can be a king.

Mayan civilization had both farming and hunting. Hunting on the highlands and farming in the lowlands. They grew corn!!

This article is talking global warming. if temperature continue to going up. In 2100 , maybe you can't see snow in north of earth in the Winter. Because north of earth is too hot.

This article is important because if we continue to make the temperature gets higher, we will all die. So we need to protect our lands.

SMASH Day Reflection

The SMASH DAY is AWESOME!!!! really fun. We played the flipped marble game. Ms.Smith divided class to 3 groups. I think I’m critical thinker and problem solver in the group, because I's the most calm person in the group, even though our group is last.

Our group had Tim, Taco and I. Tim is marble flipper, Taco and I devised the track and made the track. I devise and Taco make. It is quite fun.

The New Law of Canada: The fat guy buy airline ticket, buy one and get one free.........

The main court of Canada declared to gave the fat person some privileges, because the most large airlines in Canada had litigate with the fat customer and lost a lawsuit for 6 years. So now if you are fat and you want take plane in Canada. You buy a one airline ticket, you can also get the sit next to you for free. And disabled customer can also get the sit for free if they have somebody with. The airlines in Canada think this new law is not good, because they think some fat people or handicap will abuse this privilege.

I think the significance of this current event is to help people. Some people really need some privileges to offset their birth defect.

I think there are some bias in this current event. Give the fat people some privileges is okay!

I read the article about the prime minister of Italy said something and make a lot of contention. He said something about skin color to Obama, the first black president of US.

People dispute about this a lot, because this is about racial discrimination.

I think racial discrimination is the significance of the article. The prime minster of Italy really can't talked about other people's skin color, that is very offended. The skin is just bias. It really doesn't matter.

Our group are fail in smash day. Ms. Smith told us to built something can support the coin , as high as we can. Our group built the thing like cone, because we thought it can be very high and can support the coin by the strong bottom. But like I just said. We fail........

We built to high. It is not strong enough so it fell. This science skill can't help me become better scientist.

The Jazz music

After I saw this movie. I felt so tired and little bit headache. Jazz makes me crazy. I don,t like jazz anymore. I like jazz for like 5 minutes . If you listen like for hours, it really makes you insane.

I think jazz music is unrestricted music, sometime make me feel so free and comfortable. I free so so so sorry about the protagonist dead in the end. I almost cry.........

Is air matter?

What makes matter? matter is anything which both occupies space and has mass is known as matter. Like water, rocks, cells and oranges. But is air matter?Mrs.Smith already show the air takes space, but we are not sure the air has mass. I check on internet. They tell me yes, air is matter. But how can we prove the air has mass.The wind can makes thing move. It show us the wind has momentum and kinetic energy. That is why air has mass. If the air has no mass. How can we measure atmospheric pressure.We also can prove the air has matter in hot air ballon. The air after heating, the density of the air will be smaller then go up. If the air has no mass. How can density be smaller and the hot air ballon go up.
